Murata POSISTOR^® Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) Thermistors are ideal for circuit protection in a variety of applications, such as temperature sensor and temperature compensation. These devices are also suitable for current control in common household appliances, humidifiers, dryers of all kinds, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners. In a conventional NTC thermistor, the resistance decreases when the temperature increases, but for the Murata PTC thermistors, the resistance rises sharply when their temperature exceeds a specific temperature.
